when the egg gets black and is that far along it gets very very hard to see movement. i cant see movement in alot of mine​

Just leave it be. One of my white silkie eggs.. couldnt see movement at all. only wat i could tell its still alive was that it was getting bigger. Just wait and see what happens.

You may not always see movement. They are still okay. Just never know with these darn things. Wish someone would invent something so we could see what is going on in there!​

this is my first time hatching chickens im so excited these last 3 days will be looooong

Just candled the four silkie eggs that are due Saturday. All are looking good. Air cells are nice and can see just a bit of movement. Well one of them was dancing, not just moving.

I had to move mama inside earlier today because she was trying to steal the chicks that hatched Wednesday from the other silkie. The babies were like "You're not mama! You're the wrong color!"

Time for a photo of the babies. 6 leghorn chicks and 4 barnevelder hatched. Mum Araucana has a lot on her hands. See the little one hiding in her feathers? They were born over 3 days from the 13th till the 15th, it was painstaking waiting for them.
