Hatch Pics Blue Orps and Silkies

I just put chick starter in for them and water. Diip their beaks in the water. I don't give mine grit while they are on chick starter as it is supposed to be sufficient. They are just chirping away. I will let you know if the hen hatches any more.. I think she has one more Orp egg. i didn't candle the eggs under her at any point so I will just have to see.

Just the ones that suit me for my breeding pens as they grow. i can't tell at this point.

Yes, I did hatch one. Hes the lone ranger so I named him cowboy. He acts really roosish, but not sure he is only a week old.

I wonder if he is going to show Mottled? He has darker black spots on his legs.

Christina, His feet are huge. He definitely has the mottled chick look. Please keep me posted on his looks. My Cockeral didn't start showing spots much to three months but his wing feathering had lots of white as he was feathering in. Not like a black at all. Thank you so much for sharing his pic. Have you looked at the mottled chicks on Feathersite Orps. Some have more white than others but his one definitely has more white than a black chick.

I can't get over those feet. I have had to go back and look three times. you may have to change his Name to BigFoot.

He is so funny! He sleeps and stands on that bear all the time. Today I went in to grab him and he jumped off the bear and kicked me with his feet. I will have to check out those pictures, it will be really interesting to see how he feathers out.

I dont think it will ever fail to amaze me how an egg will go from yolk and white to fuzzy babies with only some heat. Amazin, aint it?
