We already have a 3rd pip!!! The other 2 aren't rocking like crazy anymore... but this one is. I promised myself I would not go back until after lunch.

I candled the egg that I thought was a blood ring, and it isnt. Its veining!

So, 6 out of 6 fertile. Thats amazing for shipped eggs. Hopefully I can get 6 out of 6 to hatch.

And to think, I almost through that egg out thinking it was a blood ring. But something told me to wait.

I make marks all over my eggs after I candle them each time with progress marks. Even if it gets a ? and an ED (early death)...I don't pitch till day 18. And I have been wrong twice.

Great news, hope they all hatch for you. They are really nice silkes, I have 5 from her eggs and just love them to pieces!

Wow... that is an AWESOME %, Sundown!!!! I was excited over 6 out of 8 developing. I had one super long funky shaped egg I was sure wouldn't develop or make it... it still may not... but it pipped this morning anyways.

Good idea Majestic, I should have thought to write on the eggs things like that when I candled. They are all marked with the color letter, and large colored X's so I can keep them in line from the silkie trying to mix in newly laid eggs. (I'll be in shock if they tricked me and I end up with a black chick... at least I'd know the hens snuck in their own.)

You guys have had some great hatches. I've never (and I mean NEVER) managed to hatch more then 2 from a clutch of eggs yet!

November I had 4 duck eggs... 1 was not fertile, and 1 died after the first week. 2 did hatch. Then my next hatch I had an egg eater kill 4 out of 6, 1 hatched and 1 died right before hatch. Then my last one, out of 6, 2 didn't develop, 2 hatched and 2 died before hatch!

It kills me to see people with baskets full of chicks. LOL
If I get 3 it would be a miracle!!!!
