Hatch with me! Placed in bator on 5-13-2010. First hatch!

It is just amazing what those little chicks can go through and keep going!

I am pretty eggcited as this is the first hatch I have ever gotten. I think the chick is having a problem with the egg carton sections and I posted a help post. So far its furiously trying to get out of its egg so hopefully it will make it. I am sitting real hard on my hands but its hard to see that little chick working so hard against that foam barrier and not getting anywhere. I don't know when the pipping started but I first heard it about an hour and a half a go.

I don't think there is a chance of shrink wrap as the humidity is 75%. The little chick is still trying to get out and still peeping.

Final total!!!

5 black copper marans, 3 lemon blue cochins, 5 columbian wyandottes and 5 Barnevelders. At least I got one of each!! I will post pictures soon, I'm still running on 0 sleep trying to keep that glue egg damp. Not sure if this is a good idea but she is getting stronger now, can I run her under a slow trickle faucet? Try to unglue her? I've been mostly working on getting her eyes open and wings unstuck. Then it dawned on me the vent, so been trying to keep that wet. I left the other glue egg in there with her for company, but he is doing much better. My husband 'spilled' water on him and he just kind of slid out of his shell like dog food from a can.

Any suggestion? think my lack of sleep is affecting my judgement (and I'm sure spelling)

and no the cat that caused the trouble wasn't mine and he was suppost to be locked up all during hatch.

Sooo yeah I have a chocolate brown maran chick! All the others but the brown one and 1 that is 'soft' black with a bit of brown on the neck are all super glossy black with ivory. Do BCM chicks just have different colors? Is it a mix or a throwback, bad breeding stock? It is super cute though...wish it would stay chocolate. Btw marans are meanies!! Every time I put my hand in there its like a pack of raptors.... Here is a pic of him/her and it is feather legged, super cute too.

UGGHHHH I have a pip in one of my duck eggs .....today is day 24 isn't this too early....candled it as we had not taken the turner out yet and there is definate movement. What to do?

So far I have 1 almost out of its shell. Its so cute and I can't stop watching it. A BIG Thank You to all of you who helped in my post asking for help. I don't think the little chick would have made it without all the help.
