Hatchable?

Oh wow she’s still laying?!?! What breed is she?? And you should be able to hatch her eggs as long as they are healthy and.

I have two ten year olds Connie and Combs. They are both beautiful bared rocks. Connie lays more often then Combs but Combs is extremely broody when she does lay. Their eggs are normal, large and sometimes slightly misshapen but I don't expect perfect ovals from them. They are treasured in our family as the top two chickens and I want to be able to preserve a part of them with their offspring.

I plan on putting Connie with Zeppelin, my lavender roo. I also plan on putting Combs with Dusty my barred rock mix roo. We just have to wait for the little suckers to be more sexually active lol.

Oh also how late is too late in the year to start hatching babies?

Is your rooster old? Roosters can be more of an issue than the hen because their fertility really drops in old age.

Yes, that's my plan. The only issue is I think'll still be another month before they start really trying to mate. I was just worried that their eggs would be 100% unhatchable because of the old age.
