Help! Our little egg/ duck has been through a lot! We got her egg from a farm to help with a broody hen. Then hen didn’t take the egg so I felt horrible and got an incubator she even got a little crack from the chickens and was told throw her away she won’t make it. Well I did some research and put medical take on the crack and here we are 28 days later and she’s hatched! But it wasn’t all good hatching and Im nervous we named her/him lucky ducky because of everything. Anyway she hatched and her you wasn’t absorbed but this morning looks like most of it is or dryed up. Second her eyes are not open and she’s not standing. Her shell is still attached. What do I do? Should I feed her sooner then typically because she didn’t absorb all the yok? Why aren’t her eyes open should I do something? Do I leave her in the incubator or take her out and put her on the brooder so she can try and stand? Please help we love her!

Here you go
Cut, do not tug or pull, the shell off. It is probably attached by a little string.
Then wait.
You can not feed it. Just give it time to "wake up." It either will or will not.
