Hatched chick hasnt absorbed yolk fully, will it be ok?

My duck is sitting there with the umbilical cord attached to it can I cut it

About how long does it take a baby duck to get up and around after hatching? Please help.

Be patient. It should pull free on its own.

If it doesn't, when it starts looking stiff and dry, you can carefully snip it about an inch from the navel. If you see ANY pink or orange or yellow or red, do NOT cut. There should just be a whitish/grayish/tan string if anything that attaches directly to the inside of the small end of the egg.
