I am looking for hatcheries with good brahmas. I would like at least light and dark varieties.
I would buy them from Superior farms, but the cost is $7.50 a chick.
Does anybody have a picture of brahma hens from Ideal Hatchery?
Suggestions?

My advice. If you want good Brahmas, buy from Superior. Hatchery Brahmas will not approach what you will get from the smaller suppliers. I will have Buff Chicks available in mid to late April.

I want the chicks mostly for eggs, but also for temperament and exibiting at local events and shows. Would superior chicks be good egg layers in addition to being healthy and showy?

Exhibition and egg laying do not usually go together. Once in a great while you will get Exhibition birds that will be good egg producers.

Where did you get your brahmas? Do they lay well?

I got my original Brahmas from the President of the APA. No they do not lay well as compared to egg laying breeds. Probably around 100 to 150 eggs per year.
