Hatchers Anonymous *Official Thread*

OMG!!! I found someone who can ship me some Silkied Serama eggs. I'm totally stoked. I've been searching for these hatching eggs for like ever and now i've found them.

She also has some Frizzled Silkied Seramas. No joke the silkied feathers are actually frizzled.

LOTS of eggs ...for LOTS of pretty little Coturnix ....for MORE eggs ...and then MORE Coturnix ! ....and maybe after a while some Buttons too!?!hehehehe

Ummmm.... 9 chicks hatched out of 21 eggs in one 'bator so far... I wonder if I was off for the date for the second 'bator? Could be. I didn't label it, like I did the others, and part of my brain says I didn't label it because it was the same as this 'bator that has been hatching since Friday.

Two of the chicks that have hatched are bantam cochins, and ONE looks to be a frizzle!

And I just *ahem* paid for an egg auction I just won.

Noooo, I don't have a problem.

Hello, I have recently discovered I am a hatchaholic. As recently as this afternoon. I bought eggs yesterday and now I can't stop looking at hatching egg sales!! Too bad our incubator is going to be full when we put the eggs in... That's the only thing that keeps me from hitting the 'bid now' button! In fact, this is the first time I've had my own eggs in the bator(I can feel that this is the beginning of a very expensive habit!). Luckily I have the help of a more experienced hatcher friend! I have even been looking at incubators to buy and put in my room so I can keep a better eye on future hatches. Oh no......

We sooo need a 24 hr help line. I won some quail eggs in the 24hr auction. And I just paid for the eggs that I won on ebay. I just couldn't help myself. I haven't ever had quail and the auction on ebay was for bantam cochins and I love them and only have a pair. My fiance came up behind me and saw what I was doing and said you paid how much for eggs? You can buy them in the store for $2. I said yes but those ones wont hatch if you put them in the incubator. You know what he said to that? You can't guarantee that these ones will either. know it all.

So I told him that at least I didn't spend $50 on eggs cause I could you know. He just looked at me. Good thing he doesn't know about the quail yet. Oh and now that I have figured out why a couple chickies are laying weird eggs I can join the swap. It will be perfect timing for when I worm them all.

maybe I will get lucky and get turkey eggs. Now that would be different.

Still no Pips or Peeps. I broke protocol and opened the bator. Good thing too. The water trays were empty. OOPS.

I picked up all the eggs and nothing. I even held them to my ear. Nothing.

I think I have the wrong hatch date. I forgot to write it down on the day i set them, so I just guessed. I'm hoping I was wrong and they'll hatch later.

Oh that is so funny! That's what I'm always thinking about when I'm looking at eggs for sale. "How much are they in the grocery store?" Oh well, I then think about how much money Im saving buying a dozen eggs instead of buying the same amount of chicks or grown birds.
