I have 60 chicks I ordered from Meyer. They were to all be hens. I believe they have a 90% accuracy policy. With this many chicks, its probably save to assume a few are roosters. It will depend on the experience of the person who sexed them, but does anyone else have a good estimate from their experience with Meyer or another hatchery?

ime it is normally pretty high, more like 98% with M, McM, Ideal, Mt H etc, maybe 1 or 2 roos if any in 100 sexed pullets........ a lot of times when there are mistakes it seems like it is actually probably a packing error and they sent straight run instead of sexed pullets for something... they also seem to make more mistakes on small or fancy breeds.

Thanks, Kelsie. I think they probably did a good job, but we'll see. They are 4 weeks now, and there may be a rooster ot two. A packing error sounds reasonable when it does happen. I don't really mind if there are one or two. They can protect the flock, but was curious as to others' experiences.
