Ok, thanks. It should be warm enough here by then especially with that many birds. And our post offices are better than mostThat's odd, I'd give them an email to ask. It could be because it's early.
Ah OK, I had that issue a few years ago, farther destinations require a Wednesday ship dateI just found this menu View attachment 4057340
Probably bird flu stuffs.I'm not sure why they can't ship here. That's frustrating.
I'm not sure what the deal is, darn.Mt Healthy is in Ohio. The states they list are probably the ones in the 1-2 day shipping range.
Michigan is in the 2-day area. Mine were shipped Sunday, and I got a call Monday morning at 6 am that the PO had my chicks.
But yeah, that flat out sucks.
Let us know what they say!I plan on calling in the morning.
I worked part time at a small PO here in Oklahoma for several years. The issue would be with "The Plant" or distribution centers. Its very hard to know what's going on, or where parcels are kept. The volume is staggering, and even a conscientious driver/loader might not notice the chicks, and be able to move them somewhere protected.Ok, thanks. They were super nice and helpful.Let us know what they say!
That has to suck for them too, as a business, really limiting their customer base.
Thank you for this! That makes sense.I worked part time at a small PO here in Oklahoma for several years. The issue would be with "The Plant" or distribution centers. These places are huge with bay doors open for hours, or parcels loaded onto trucks during the night for early morning shipping out to the local POs.
I know they'll put heat packs in the shipping box, but if it sits for an extended period on a dock or in a truck, it could get SO cold in the Dakotas.
I also like Cackle Hatchery in Missouri. I'm very partial to trying to order from not-terribly-far-away.
