Hi, I don't know what hatchery to buy from with free shipping for small orders does any one have sugestions? I am looking at one called Metzer's Hatchery. Does any one like Metzer's Hatchery?

I dont think any hatchery has completely free shipping with small orders. Usually small orders have a large handling fee attached.

Ideal is a 30$ minimum (roughly 7 st run chicks) and a 7$ shipping fee. That's as close as I can think to small and free

Costs will change every year, and it all depends on numbers of which birds, at least.
Best price might be ordering through a feed store, from the hatchery the store uses.

I agree with finding a local feed store can get sexed pullets from them too and if you call ahead of the season you might can get them to order the specific ones you want if you pay up front. My local feed store has always ordered what we want if you pay in advance

@AmericanaHank Sorry I don't remember for sure what i paid. I see where it says free shipping on 2021 orders but I'm not sure if that includes the small or extra small orders. https://www.metzerfarms.com/minimum-orders.html Here's the link to the info on small and extra small orders. My ducks arrived healthy and on time. What are you looking into ordering? All we have here is murdochs and they only do straight run on ducks so it worked well for me to order through metzer.

When I was planning this year's orders I went through the entire calculation for the numbers and breeds I wanted for different hatcheries.

Depending on what you order and how many exactly different hatcheries come up best.
