Hatches this week?? Dec 28-Jan 1st??

I'm up to 16 of 21 on my jumbo coturnix. One other one started to hatch and got stuck, poor thing died

So I only have 4 more eggs left to hatch, and I know one of them is clear! These were technically shipped eggs. They came from Mt. Sterling Ky, I'm in Columbia, Ky. It's only about 2 hours' drive, but they were still in the postal system for 2 days! And 4 were broken when they arrived, so I think they still count as shipped!

Thank you! I have been reading posts and looking at this site for quite a while. I have learned so much!

Today when I went out to check, she had moved them off the orginal nest. I noticed one was trying to poke out. A small piece of shell was off and I could see the baby moving. I was so excited.

I went back out late this after noon only to find her on the other side of the pen sitting on her chick. It is cold out and I was afraid she was chasing the chick and landed over there instead of on the rest of the eggs. I put the chick back by the eggs and she went right over and sat back down on all of them. I hope that other baby makes it out tonight. I dont have much hope for the other five. Bummer.

After all of that time and effort, I hope she does'nt abandon them just before they hatch!

If it were me, I would take the chicks away until they are done hatching, that way mama will stay on the nest.

I have eggs due New Years day under 2 hens. Five eggs in all could be banty cochins or maybe a silkie, I hope.

We're expecting on Jan 1!!!! Pulllleeeezzzz hatch...my "helpful" nieces turned the 'bator off twice during their incubation period so we'll see....
