Hatching 11-13-09..anyone else?

I'm putting 36 in that will be due on the 16th. 20 EE's and 16 of my B.O. and white rock mixes(some pure B.O. some crosses) This is my second hatch ever. The first didnt go so well. None of my EE's hatched and only 3 of my own hatched which means 3 out of 19 eggs and one has curly toes. (getting better though with vitamins) I'm looking forward to seeing what happens this time. Starting day 4 and all is well so far. Temps holiding at 99 - 101, with no adjustments to the thermostat. Adding water once/day - humidity ranging 31 - 40. Egg turner working.

Can't wait to candle around day 10. LOL...even though I'm terrible at it.

I had a huge temp spike the first day. Everything's been steady since. Hope I didnt kill them.

I have three therometers in mine and none are reading the same. I'm on day five and will attempt to candle tonight after dark.

The funniest part of this whole thing is that it took me over a year to talk him into even 'letting' me have chickens - which i finally did - we got our first chicks this past May....to date he has built an addition onto my garden shed to house our flock, two incubators (the second larger than the first to hold more eggs) and suprised me by ordering 6 partridge silkie eggs to put in the bator (which they are right now). and BTW, he reads BYC probably more than i do now....in fact, he's probably reading this right now...heehee

Day 7 and just candled our batch - all 18 looked to be developing

no clears, so that's encouraging. Anyone else candling this weekend?

I'm on day 11, due the 11th (

) and candled this afternoon. I'm using the easy way and having a broody do the work, and she was kind enough to let me candle while she was sitting. There are nice air cells in 8/9, so I yanked the one that didn't do anything.

This is my first hatch - EEs and possibly EE/cochins - guess we'll see who daddy is when babies are born!

I've a very poor candler. But I'll gve it a try in the next couple days and post something.
