She was one of the last 2 eggs in the incubator, she hatched first and the other one we were worried about. This was out first time hatching eggs for us, so we were worried about the shrink wrapping. It was like a 1-2 days late, so we "helped" him out. It was too early and he still had a yolk sack. We put him in a measuring cup to try to not pop the yolk sac. Now Dingus was not yet removed from the incubator and kept sitting on top of him. But we left her in there to keep him company. Her name came from that. Also the duckling was fine for a while after. They did die adventally, but it was maybe months or something so not sure if it was related or not.I would like to hear your story.
Candle them for any movement. Hopefully the incubator wasn’t without power for too long. Make sure the temperature and humidity stay constant. If there are any ducklings still alive, be prepared for them to hatch late. Hoping for positive updates.Well this isn't good, we left for a few days, come back and the power is off. As the freezer isn't even cold. I don't know when we lost power, it's Monday, and we left on Thursday. The ducks were almost ready to hatch. Could they still make it?
Thank you, I didn't see any movement when candling and apon getting power back to the incubator it said day 5, so when we left it lost power soon after. Leaving them in, hope they make it. If they don't we will restart with new eggs.Candle them for any movement. Hopefully the incubator wasn’t without power for too long. Make sure the temperature and humidity stay constant.
