Unfortunately one of the three that hadn't made the internal pip yet died because its beak was facing downward, so it couldn't get to the air cell. :( that leaves me with 6, possibly 5 duckies
 
The duckling died today. I probably helped too soon.

BUT look at what hatched!! (fluffy yellow duck was still alive in the pics)






So now I have a total of three ducklings two eggs.

Zip: when the chick pecks around the egg in a circle
Internal pip: when the chick breaks the air sack and takes the first breath
External pip (or just "pip"): when the chick breaks the fist hole in the shell
Air sack (or air cell): the bubble of air in the blunt end of the egg essential for the chicks first breath
