Here's a link to a candling chart that may help. As you can see, not much shows at 5 days. I'd re-candle at 7-10 days for a clearer picture of what's going on in the egg.I just did a quick candle to see if I could see anything, and I saw a little darkish spot on the yolk that wasn’t previously there. I didn’t see any veins. Is this normal for day 5 duck incubation? I am really crossing my fingers that it’s fertile.
With regard to the air cell, this chart shows what, optimally, cells should look like at different points in incubation. If the air cell size is worrisome, you could try just cooling, but I think the misting also helps the shell break more easily at hatch, too.
