Hi! I just got a new silkie who has laid some fertile eggs, but after loosing her first two there is only one fertile egg left. Since there is only one egg left, the silkie isn't interested in hatching it anymore, so I plan to put it in my incubator. I have some other young chicks that I will introduce the baby to if all goes well, but will it be affected by hatching by itself? Also, if I introduce the newborn to the mother hen, will she raise it even if she didn't hatch it? Thank you!

As a silkie, you can probably give her chicks now and then add another one in the next week(s) at night. Ive read that other chicks won't accept the other one after 4 weeks so keep that in mind. Good luck!
