Still no buttons. Day 21 started at midnight, do they wiggle or anything? My temp spike to 109 didn't hurt the chickens eggs but it might have zapped the buttons since they are so much smaller. Keeping finger crossed I get at least 2 out of 48 eggs. I am suppose to stop turning the chicken eggs tuesday. Candled a few today and the are moving like crazy. Getting so close.

Buttons can move, but they are so small it's hard to see.

Glad your temp spike didn't affect your chicken eggs. I woke up to a bator at 105 this morning. All of the silkies are dead

I didn't see any movement in the ameracaunas either, but they are hard to see into, so I'm keeping my

on those. Thank goodness I didn't have the lakenvelders eggs in there too, or I would probably toss both the stupid bators in the trash!

Oh no are you sure they are dead? Maybe just not moving to much since they got so warm? I will keep my fingers crossed for you also. This is my last hatch for a long long time. I think its time for a break from all the worrying here for a bit. That is after the GLC eggs due on the 9th hatch. The eggs are not dark, but very funny texture to the shells, so hard to tell if they have veins in them when I candle still. Though they are only on day 7. Only one looks completely clear on those. I got a new flash light today and I can see in the Polish and silkie eggs so much better then with my old one.

I wish incubators would start acting like broody hens and change temps or stay on the same temps when we need them to.

Lots of finger crossing for you guys...oh yea and for me!

Well, it's day 25 for me, the babies are due in five more days.

I guess I'll have to go out either today or tomorrow and pick up something to use as a small brooder cause I don't want to put them in the big one yet.

Anyhow, just check my eggs and everybody's still moving inside. The goslings have gotten so big now they're actually making the eggs move a little on their own. The air cells look a little too small in three of the eggs and a little too large in the fourth one

but hopefully everything will turn out O.K..

Well, 4 hatched and three were duds. Wilma is happy with four babies. They are all doing well. I have one black, one white and two EE's. I'll post in four months when Wilma goes broody again. Congrats on all the hatches.

It's day 22 on the silkies and day 20 on the ameraucanas. One of the silkie eggs was peeping the other night before the temp spike. I don't have any pips or rocking or anything. I candled all of them when I saw the temp that high, I figured it wouldn't hurt to have it open a while to cool it off. I didn't see any movement in the silkies. Like I said with the ameraucanas, I can't see in them much at all anyway, other than to see whether or not they have developed. So hopefully they didn't die as well, though it wouldn't surprise me one bit.
