hatching around the 26th post UPDATES here

I moved my silkies (due the 23rd) and my ameracaunas (due the 25th) to the hatcher last night. I candled before, and it looked like I had a white silkie that was pipped into the air cell already! Come on chickies!

I just candled my goose eggs (due on the 29th) and it looks like all is well. You can see little webbed feet pressing and kicking up against the shell on three of them. The fourth one is barely moving and is so dark you can't see anything. I hope it's just a really big, healthy, gosling in there; not some problem starting to show up.

Shelly - did your silkie egg pip?

So far so good on my 5 that actually were fertile! I move them to the hatcher ( that I still have to go get) on Saturday! Then I have an individual egg that Im not sure when its due - I think the 30th. It was part of a trio where two were not fertile. Then I have two green eggs due the 4th! They seem to be developing but its hard to tell on those darn green eggs!

I don't think so, though it's too hard to see them. I'm not sure which one it was, and I am afraid to open it to find out!

I'll just have to wait and see what happens

Good luck shelley. Do button quail usually pip early or wait til hatch day? Today was my last tday to turn them, I can't wait to see how many hatch. What do you usually up your humidity to for button quail eggs?

I try to get at least 70% for buttons. I have had some hatch on day 14 and some hatch as late as day 19, so it really just depends on the incubation settings. Good luck, and remember to put your bator on the floor!! Those little guys will hop right out of the bator when you take the top off!
