Hatching broken eggs

My mother broke the shell of an egg while candling around day 13 and was SO sad when she saw it had a perfect little chick growing inside. The membrane hadn't been hurt so she put it alone inside another bator without any turner or hand turning and one week later a lively little barnyard mix hatched!

But, I suspect that there is probably a low hatch rate unless you can keep a sterile environment in the incubator, might need something like a UV sterilizer in there to keep the air clean... That incubator looks like a lab quality culture one (clued in by the pressurized gas tanks on side that can be used to create a artificial and sterile atmosphere inside if needed) and many of those also have UV sterilizers inside so the recirculated air is sterile...
