Hatching buddy? Set today, due May 18th

Awe gee, sorry you have the same issue with a chick. Give her some Polyvisol without iron and make sure she is hydrated by offering water droplets. I use my finger cus I don't have an extra dropper handy. Eye droppers work well. Baby Huey has shown a tiny bit of improvement so I am waiting to see if she pulls out of it.

I read another post on here about a chick that cannot walk with the same issue. I was like duh I have Polyvisol on hand and I totally forgot about using it! Feel so stupid for it.

Hope both our girls pull through

I still have 19 eggs left to hatch that haven't pipped yet, tomorrow night will be 21 days. I really want to open and grab this little one but not sure if I should open it up. Will she be okay for another 24 hrs? She's been hatched for around 7 hrs now.

She should be be fine. They can live for about 3 days on the yolk they absorbed without need of food or water. If you have pips in the other eggs you put them at risk by cracking the lid to get the hatchling out. I learned that the hard way last time

Now I have a some 1 day olds, 2 day olds and pips in the bator. I think to some degree having a hatchling in the bator encourages the ones still in the egg to work harder

I took my incubator into the bathroom and got it all steamy and took out the chick. Gave some polyvisol drops and taped her toes strait. A hour later she is walking so much better and keeping her legs under her

Those drops are miracle drops.

Now I hope I didn't mess up the others hatching my humidity never dropped so I'm hopeful

I hear chirping under my broody!!

Nice! My boyfriend swears he heard chirping last night but I was hovering over that incubator like a hawk and didn't hear anything yet. I listened this morning and nothing either... They're not really due until tomorrow so I'm just trying to be patient

Well, good and bad news

I went to check Zoe's nest on day 18 to let her out for a potty break. To my absolute horror, I found that the nest was absolutely DISGUSTING!

and two of her eggs were missing! I cleaned it up best I could and returned her to her throne. No peeping or pips but the eggs are heavy and solid. I hoped that the chicks would make. It under that layer of filth

Day 19- Went put to check the eggs early in the morning. One pip! Yay! Returned that night. The egg was absolutely crushed on one side! I figured Zoe must have squashed it! I lifted Zoe up to save the egg (chick was alive) AND SHE STEPPED ON IT! GAAH! I rushed the baby inside, and spent all night keeping the egg moist and preventing Shrink wrap. In the morning, the chick hatched on it's own. Yes!

The next morning another had hatched. Zoe had completely rejected it and I found the still living baby in the corner of her cage. BAD BAD BROODY!

2/6 hatched so far! Wishing good luck on the other 4!

I heard peeping under my broody this morning. Went out this afternoon and three little peeps were peeking out under Mama. Checked again about an hour later and had 4. We are so exciited! Wonder how many we will have tomorrow.

Those ducks sure are cute~!
