Hatching Buddy wanted for Eggs in on August 5th & 6th

Aww...congrats! I am too afraid to candle my BCM eggs until day 14 or so. I would hate to throw one out because I couldn't see anything. I suppose I will just have to wait. How often do you guys check your eggs? I check them in the morning before work and in the evening after I get home from work.

I stuck 1 egg from Mrs. Fluffy Puffy ( Chicken not me!!!! ) in the bator August 2nd. Also set 6 Button Quail eggs in August 5th.

Well, I have a little banty hen----supposedly a RIR cross----who just decided to go broody 2 days ago. I didn't really want to be hatching eggs so late in the year (I go back to work driving school-bus on the 23!). But, she is so wanting to sit on these eggs, that I thought I'd let her try. DH is not going to be to thrilled----he assumed we were done having livestock in the house for the year----silly, silly man!

I am obsessed with checking the eggs! I probably do it too much (well, the ones I incubate---the ones under the hen, I pretty much leave alone).​

I can not figure out how to reply to certain individuals on here so Im gonna do this and hope u see it! LOL!!! anyways......To "Bragabit"............Dang right u need to ask for more eggs!!!! im guessing that there is a place somewhere where u can warn other people that this seller is not very reliable??? I would defiantly do that if they do not work with u!! Let me know how it turns out!! To "Sequoiacyclist" I also bought some eggs that where shipped!! This is also my first time with shipped eggs!!! But I bought my eggs from a lady on here, her name is "madalynn Belle" and the packaging was amazing!!! I got B/B/S black copper marans!!! Im soooooooooo pumped!!!! I put them on the 6th!! I havent candled them yet, but wouldnt it b hard to candle Maran eggs!!

I told myself I wasn't going to candle until day 10 but last night on day 5, I had to do it.

10 looked good and 8 were iffy. All are still in the incubator and I won't toss until the end.

Hello! I set my 3 silkies and 4 Black Mottled Cochin/silkie mix in the bator on the 5th and 1 of those mix got added on the 8th and candled last night. All looked good but not sure of course on the last one I put in. Debating on putting them under a bantam that just went broody about a week ago. But so much want to incubate the black mottle cochins mix to see what they will look like, this is the second try for me on them and the 1st batch were not fertile. I wasn't going to hatch anymore so late in the year but of couldn't resist and went to TSC today and fell in love with four black australorps and of course here they are! Never dealt with these before but I've read good egg layers and docile. Now I will have more than 75 chickens, how can you not resist. Chicken fever, lol

I set 12 BCM on August 5th....candled only 5 today becuz it's my 1st time didn't want to take to many chances, all 5 had movement!

Yay Chevis! I thought about getting some BBS marans, but I already have some wheatens. Maybe I will hatch some out next year! I am with you on the candling though. Some of the eggs I received are so dark that you can't see much at all. I sure hope none of them are going to explode. I am going to keep my fingers crossed.

JD Congrats on the new australorps. They are just adorable! I got a chuckle when I read that you already have 75. When the Animal Planet series "Animal Hoarders" came out I got very nervous. Chickens don't count right? Sassy Welcome!
