Hatching Call ducks thread

No it doesn't look like that. Neither does it look like a dead chick that hasn't absorbed the yolk. I'm probably over reacting but I've found incubating ducks 100 times more stressful that chickens. They just did their thing :(
I have noticed that ducklings hatch with more "goo" than chickens, so I suspect that is what you are seeing, especially if it's connected by a string.

Shall I take away from around the eggs then but keep the kitchen roll in the bator to keep humidity up?
If I were in your shoes I would carefully remove the goo from the one that is drying off. Be sure to wash your hands and use a sharp pair of clean scissors and cut about 1/2" away from the umbilicus. For the ones that haven't hatched, I would moisten their membrane by applying coconut oil or Neosporin.
