Hatching chicks and ducklings together?

Ducks are moving like crazy and the chicks are starting to move as well now, there is only 11 days left and i had one of my hens go broody on monday and she is sitting on 8 eggs as well, so she has been sitting for 4 days now she is 6 days behind the others

Candled my three duck eggs (day 11 today), and they are all moving

so excited now

one is moving like crazy, and the other two are moving every now and again

i candled a few of my chicken eggs day 4)and im happy to say i have about 5 silkie eggs and of the two i candled they are both growing

i didnt candle all 48 eggs, but of the ones i did candle (about 20 )2 or 3 are in fertile one had the ring of death

and all the rest are growing so excited

In my very humble opinion, "lockdown" is a myth. My hatch rate is very good and I never practice lockdown. I am in there every day doing whatever needs to be done.

Yes. no and maybe. I remove the eggs from the cabinet incubator with automatic turner 2-3 days before hatch and place them in an incubator at 98.5 and sometimes dry hatch w/o any water added to raise the humidity. Sometimes, and with different eggs I may want to raise the humidity up much higher. Like someone said in here somewhere, lockdown was invented to keep newbies from messing with the eggs during the last couple of days.

IMO, humidity is soon recovered as well as temperature if you open the incubator, so what does it matter? What is actually gained by "lockdown"? I may remove eggs due to hatch at any time to candle. Now, I do not rotate the egg if I remove it from the incubator to candle. All of my eggs are candled just before placing in the "no turn" incubator or hatcher and marked with a magic marker which side is up. Yes, there is an up side even if laying on their sides. You candle, the air sac should dip down further into the egg in one area and the area that it dips the most is the "up" area and should be placed that way in the hatcher. Many times I candle to see if they have pipped into the air sac.

You have full term ducklings or goslings that died on or just before hatch day? Probable causes:
The eggs did not lose enough weight during incubation (humidity too high)
The air vents were not open during incubation and/or not enough air exchange during the last several days up to hatch.
They were not properly turned every day.

I'm no expert by any means, but just what I've learned from reading and personal experience and much trial and error. I'm not advocating for anyone to do it my way, just telling how I do it.

Ok I didn't know there was side up for lockdown I have down a dry hatch this time so I'll see how it goes 9 days to go

Went into turn it one last time and a duck has pipped !!!!!!!!!! It's only day 24!!

and this morning I went up and I heard a bit of peeping, and the hole is bigger now and I can see it's beak move and the other one I saw moving has also pipped and I had candles the 3rd one and it has internally pipped
