Hatching chicks and ducklings together?

Day 28 can't come quick enough I'm really looking forward to having a couple of ducklings running around again

I love ducklings, i like chicks as well, but I think ducklings are the cutest and most funny to watch

I know it seems like those last THREE days are the hardest, longest ever, you forget about the fact that they almost take a whole month just to get to that point. LOL

I love watching them take there first swimming lesson and they do the Water diving thing. OMG, that's sooooo adorable. I have my four that I will be taken for there first swim lesson and I plan on using my camera phone to take under water pictures.

Last year I put them in and they were swimming around the paddling pool like crazy there was more water on the outside of it that in Ahaha

I posted this in another group and I can't be bothered to type it out again lol, but what are your thoughts on it??

i had a drake and a duck up until last week and I colleceted the eggs, but then a fox came and got them, so I had gathered 5, and thought I would hatch them. I have the 5 eggs in the incubator on day 3, and I'm not sure if they are fertile, I candeled them, but I wasn't sure, I know it's still early, but my ducks were about a year old, and I don't know if they were mating or not, but they have been together since they were hatched but i didn't see any mating action when I was around them but they were always very close together, so I don't know. Do u think the eggs are fertile ?

Ducks are seasonal and three days your not going to see anything, give them at least five days and check them. I only see mine mate when I put them to bed the boys go at it. It's a crazy site, it's like they are killing my girls and the girls honk sooooo loud..

Crossing fingers you got some babies there. Sorry to hear about that fox. He'll be back though..

Ok thanks I was getting worried I would have all duds and i know I have fixed the fence he dug right underneath it but hopefully these will hatch, so I will something to remember them by

Oh that nasty little fox... I have one he comes around every year..

I had been fine for a couple of years, because in the past 2 years I've had no fox attacks, the year before that I got my hole flock wiped out I lost all 13 of my hens butbthen I'd built I back up again front he chicks i had last year, I had 13 and 2 roosters and then he came 3 weeks ago I think it was and took 10 of them, and the two roosters I had aswell and left me with three

omg that's horrible I feel your pain. Well on the brighter side you got an excuse to keep hatching out babies. Lol

Ahah I know after I put the chicken eggs in with the ducks next Wednesday and they hatch I'm going to get more duck eggs, and maybe some silkie eggs with I can also hatch out I love duckies though I love their first swim is so funny watching them get used to the water

They are funny ARENT they. When I put my four in the tub for there first swimming lesson OMG they wouldn't touch the water, they were so scared of it. Lol

A duck scared of water, and not a duck four ducks lol
