Hatching Chicks, Length of Time?

Our Silkie/ Buff Orpington eggs are now close to hatching time, but I was wondering, how long does an egg usually take to hatch. They are under a broody hen (their actual momma; she'll be thrilled!) so I don't know if that would affect the time at all.

Hi, I'm not sure there is really an answer to this. I have heard any where from a few hours to a couple days from pip to hatch. You might try doing a search to see what others experiences have been. Good luck.

Is should take around 12 hours after pipping. It can take up to 24 hours.

Forever. They can take a day or even 2 after pipping sometimes. At minimum several hours from pip to hatched chick.
