I am going to attempt to hatch baby chicks in an egg carton, using an electronic heat pad. I know, funny. There will be 6 half eggshells with water in them at the edges and the eggs will be in the middle. Well here goes, I will post every day if I can. But I can't take a picture because I only have a laptop and taking pictures is awkward. But, if this does works, it would be a really cheap and simple way to incubate eggs. :)

Day 2- Well... everyone... the heat pad got too warm... The egg was way too hot so I cracked it open. I found out that it was partially boiled... But, Good news! The egg was furtle and had a little bit of blood in it! That means that it was working! Time for the next experiment! I am going to turn down the temp and add one Easter Egger egg, one Jersey Giant egg (from the same chicken from the 1st experiment), and one meat chicken egg, they all have different sizes. Also, the EE egg, if it hatches, will be a hybrid because we only have a Jersey Giant rooster. Well, wish me luck!

Update- Got a thermometer, the temp is around 99 to 100 and is keeping steady, I refill the half egg shells every afternoon and placed a half folded towel on the top. The heat pad is under the egg carton and is elevated with a plastic container. I might add more eggs at deferent times, but will the heat pad last?
