Hatching day advice! Should the eggs be moving?

Awwwww...congrats! getting out of that egg is hard work! I usually move mine into the brooder when they fluff up. For the first chick, I usually have a small stuffed animal for the baby to snuggle until some friends hatch a mirror works too

I have her tucked into the brooder. I think I'm wrong about her mix. She looks just like my SS chicks did, but she has feathers on her legs. She must be either my dark or light brahmas egg. Such a tiny egg for one of those big girls. I don't have any other egg layers with feathered legs.

My araucana egg pipped about 11pm last night. It looks like it's near the air sac(my last trace was Day 14). I can't see the beak and haven't heard or seen ANYTHING.

I love his little pumpkin, but she needs some friends!! Today is day 21.

That newest pip pic is picture-perfect. Exactly where they should be. Looks fine.

A tip - If you stare really carefully at the pip (I use a magnifying glass) and flash a light back and forth across the end of the egg, or even tap on the incubator, you can barely see the shell move. Noise will usually make the chirp a little too.

My Araucana/SS just hatched and I'm not home!! My husband sent me pics and a video. The umbilical cord looks to be attached is that normal. He has no idea what to look for. The eyes also seem large to me. He said she's very energetic and is playing quite the game of soccer with the other eggs.

Looks like maybe just goo still attached. It will come off. Hopefully the yolk is fully absorbed into the abdomen. Did he say if the belly looks ok?

Eyes do look a bit big. She hasn't fully absorbed the yolk, from what I can see. Leave her in the Bator and watch her. It should dry up and fall off if she doesn't absorb it. But WV might have more to add....
