Hatching day advice! Should the eggs be moving?

What does that mean, a quitter? Anything I can do about it? I feel like it's alive in there now.

I'm sorry, didn't mean to alarm you. The others explained what I meant by quitter.

When a chick moves into position to hatch, the air cell will do what we call 'drawdown'. It sorta elongates the air cell, down one side further, and more into the fat end of the egg. In this pic, the chick hatched very shortly after I took this. Notice how distorted and drawn down the air cell is.

Thank you, sorry to be so needy! I have to leave for work. This pip looks pretty big, but I don't think it's zipping yet. Still very wiggly and chirping. Will it be okay even if it stays like this for the next 10 hours?
I put a moist paper towel in to keep humidity high and told my husband to remove the paper towel as soon as it hatches if I'm not here.

No worries, you're not needy! Should have seen how bad I was when my goose was hatching..and I'd been hatching chicks for 10 yes...
If it hadn't been for the patient folks here, I'd have been a basket case!
It looks great, you should have a little chick before you get home today. Instructions to hubby... perfect! Have a great day at work and try not to fret.

Not needy at all! I think we all worry and fuss when we have babies hatching no matter how long you have been hatching! Just the excitement combined with the huge responsibility of caring for them how do those broody hens stay so calm????

Here's what I think is my final count. I still have one, but I'm on day 24 today, so I'm not sure. 4 out of five isn't bad. What's funny is that I was so wrong about wwhuch hen lays which egg. My last one is black with black skin and beak. Has to be my sexlink bc that's my only hen with black skin and beak. My one out speckled Sussex can't be bc she has feathers on her legs, so she must be a brahmas. Either was they are all half SS and super cute and happy to be born.
