Today is hatching day for my serama eggs. So far they are all light colored.

Incredibly cute!!! Hey, did that one at the bottom jump out of the carton while it was still in the egg or what? [IMG]

Quote:No, the egg was out of the carton to begin with, I had 13 hatching and the carton only holds 12.

WOW, what a great hatch! [IMG] Tell me your secret to success! [IMG] I see you have jars of water in there. Can you tell me why (still learning here!)? [IMG] Another question, if you don't mind.... Do you like the hatch in the egg cartons better than on the wire/shelf liner? [IMG]

Quote:The water jars are heat sinks to help stabilize the temperature.

The egg carton works okay, unless you have some piping out the small end, then you can put those on their side.

This is a homemade styrofoam cooler "incubator" that I use for a hatcher. I have staggered batches of eggs in my other incubators, so I hatch them out in this one to keep my incubators clean.
