Hatching double yolk eggs

Hi i am a new member here and I have a question ...
One of my rhode island red hens started laying ..
She laid the first egg and after 2 weeks she laid another one and 2 days later she laid another one and they were all double yolks
the first egg was eaten
And when she laid the second one we decided to buy an incubator to hatch it then she laid the third egg . 
now we have both eggs in the incubator they are fertile and we can see the embryos 
My question is how to successfully hatch the eggs ??? I read that they won't be able to hatch on their own ??

What do you suggest ???


 the hen got sick after laying the third egg and we think she was egg bound she kept pushing and she was in pain but she was eating normally. Her vent was really red so we applied olive oil but that didn't help we gave her a warm bath that didn't help too and we injected olive oil into her vent to help her pass the egg and we gave her medicine in the water two days later she was getting worse so I gave her more medicine and then next day we found a very soft shelled egg and the hen was healthy again !! e
We think that she laid that soft egg 
We just hope she can lay more double yolks without problems ..

I realize double yolks may be exciting, and I think we have all seen them from time to time, but a hen that consistently lays double yolked eggs, especially on a non-regular laying schedule to begin with, has something wrong with her. Egg-binding can be a serious issue, and I wouldn't breed any hen that had a propensity for it. That being said, you mention your pullet just started laying. It is not unusual for a young bird to be all over the place egg-wise until her system straightens out. This just may be beginner's hiccups, and she will be fine.

Likewise, most will tell you not to try and hatch eggs from a bird that has just started laying. Certainly not within her first 10 eggs. Yes, there have been individuals that have successfully hatched double yolked chicks, but it is an extremely small percentage, and the chicks that do make it are usually less-than-healthy. In a situation like hatching chicks where many, many things can (and do) go wrong, most folks want to do whatever they can to tilt odds their way (strong and proven birds from good stock, good quality eggs, and good environment).

Don't get me wrong - I'm not trying to be a discouragement. As a matter of fact, I want you to have good, positive experiences that encourage you to expand your chicken boundaries and enjoy them. Nothing turns people off like watching weak chicks fail to thrive. That being said, since you do have (for now) viable embryos - see what you can do. You've come to the right place. There is a wealth of knowledge here, and many, often diverse and conflicting opinions (someone will likely even respond to tell you I am wrong). Search for "double yolks" and "assisted hatching" (Sally Sunshine has some oft-quoted postings). In any event, keep us all posted and informed of what happens.
