Hatching Duck eggs....I messed up...UPDATE.....#1

Hey everyone. Just a question. I've never had a duck before but I currently have one in an incubator. If I don't get another when will it be okay? as long as I'm around for it to bond with? And I have other animals it can bond with. Or should I be looking into getting a second one ?

Do you have more eggs to hatch with this one that already hatched? if not I'd call around to see if your closest TSC has ducklings yet They really do better if they have a buddy.

Yep, Bouncer being alone was not planned at all.....Ducklings should be with other Ducks....His buddies are due to hatch in 7 days.....Bouncer met the flock today on his first outside trip.....Pictures coming soon!!!

No I don't have any other eggs. It hasn't hatched yet. I bought the fertile egg wanting to just have it as a pet. But I was not told about the fact that they usually have a friend, and can die if they don't. I have a cat that it can bond with but I don't know if that'll be good enough for it.

I was a good Duck Mom...My other Ducks were confused. I Quacked and then chased them away from Bouncer..lol....

It will need a Duck friend.....Ducks are social and love other Ducks.....
