Hi all,

After reading many post about the r-com king suro 20, I wanted to purchase one as well, and possibly from the web-site everyone is recommending.

http://www.jmtdistributors.com/rcom-suro-20-n20.html

How much was the shipping cost? Or total cost in general. Everyone is saying they paid 300, so does that mean that you paid 15 dollars for shipping?

Since its on sale for 285 now, how much did people pay for it plus shipping? Or would there be other websites that sell for cheaper?

This website sells for 297, but how much is their shipping?

I just started a hatch last night in one. Had trouble with some of their directions but DH helped.
Mine was from Kemps/Poultry Supply. They had them B 4 for $249.00 ..out of stock, ordered and paid so got that price. The shipping was $44.00...pricey...USPS.
It seems to be working well. Set temp for 99.5 and humidity for 55. The egg rocker is working well.....looks like a carnival ride for eggs , in slow mo! All are holding steady. I do like the fact that so much of it is clear plastic for viewing. I do think they could do better on the direction "sheet".
Good luck

I have 3 babies now, incubated and hatched in the Brinsea Octagon 20 Eco! The fourth is being a good little duckling and waiting until the actual hatch date, which was supposed to be 5 p.m. tonight. It's still moving around in the egg and peeping, so I'm hoping for a fourth by midnight tonight!

DAY 28, HATCH DAY: Well, we woke up to one Pekin duckling out and running around the incubator, and another duckling about to hatch! The second one popped up, looking for all the world like the perfect Easter egg cartoon, with his butt in the shell, and his head peeking out. Turns out he is clearly a Blue Swedish x Pekin cross. We have at least 6 or 7 more pips that we can see, so hopefully we'll have more ducklings soon!

Here are photos of our first two:

Annarie,

Cute ducklings, and a great picture!

You are obviously a lot more experienced at hatching than we are. Do you ever have any concerns about removing hatched ducklings from the incubator before the hatch is done? They seem to be fine in there, just the two of them, but I can see this incubator getting very crowded, very quickly!

I really would have liked to leave these guys in the 'bator, but they were getting bored and crowded, and decided that all the cast-off eggshells looked yummy - so they started trying to eat them, and they managed to knock the last, unhatched egg out of the egg carton it was sitting in!

So, I quickly pulled them out, candled the slowpoke egg (he's still moving around in there!), misted the egg with lukewarm water, checked the water channels, and quickly closed the lid.

The humidity was back up to 70% within 5 minutes.

Gotcha. So I'll plan on leaving them in, unless the marauding gets completely out of control. Thanks!
