Hatching egg arrival, angry postman and homemade automatic egg turner failure.

I saw your picture and thought the same thing! I stopped using a bowl and sponge, I had it on top of the screen but took up so much room and I found if I just pour it on the bottom of the cooler I get a larger area of water and my humidity goes up. With the sponge and bowl I couldn't get humidity higher than 35%. I only have about 3/4 of an inch between the screen and bottom but since I don't put a lot of water in there I don't have to worry about flopping chicks drowning.

aww bummer.

yeah i see that. My humidty is around 35%-42% but i think pouring the water in the bottom is a great idea i try that on thurday when i'm going to be here the whole day. I have class tomarro i hope the temp doesn't spike while i'm done

It's easy to clean after all the hatching too, just take out the screen wipe everything down as needed and put the screen back. I have a syringe that I use to add water through one of the lower holes I poked in the cooler so on lock down I don't have to worry about the lid. I'm going to add a piece of tubing that will fit through the hole and onto the syringe so I can take water out if I have to also. I didn't do that the last time but thought it would be a good thing to do just in case.

Sorry i didn't realize you had posted this one. I originally got guineas because I read they would eat ticks and other bugs. We are surrounded by farm and I hope they will get to work eating them. I'm afraid though that once the wheat grows this year they will disappear into it and not come back. I have read that I can keep a guinea female in the pen and they will come back to her call so I may switch off and on with that. I'm hatching guineas because out of 10 I am down to 5 and I don't think they are hungry enough to eat that many ticks. :D

ya some mad skills on that album. Ha the cow paddy thing is super interesting never heard of that! I'll have to give it a try. :D
