Hatching Eggs from Miss-Jayne - Mahonri & ChevygirlBeth

the colored eggs will be harder to see the veining on for a few more days.

Mahonri! i feel so bad that your package had a rough go around! also, i am not sure what the info about the duck eggs was? infertile? that would be really odd as everyone we have tested has been fertile. unless the PO was just too hard on them and they pooped out or something.

keep me posted!

I realize that those duck eggs will be in the bator LONGER.... Hope they can go without turning while the chickies are hatching.

Ideally I should have started with the duck eggs and then added the chicken eggs after a week.

Guess this is how I learn.

Thanks, this is going to be exciting.

This is my 2nd time trying. Last time after day 8 I didn't have this many still in the bator.... and to have shipped eggs from South Carolina and have all 16 of them develop is a miracle in itself.

I'm a little scared. I'm not seeing much in most of the eggs I can see in (still can't see much in the darker eggs other than a darker area, lighter area, and the air sac). I'm afraid that the one temp spike I had early on may have killed them.

In some I'm afraid that I'm starting to see a bacterial ring developing.

Nothing smells funky or anything, so I'm not quite ready to throw any of them out. I just feel bad. Miss_Jayne gave me these wonderful eggs and I may have killed them all.

BTW, Miss_Jayne - did you set the guinea eggs? If so, how are they doing?

don't hit the panic button, Beth. seeing through the eggs can be very hard. i seriously doubt they wont develop. and you didn't kill anything! it was an accident.

i will go candle them in a minute...gotta move some eggs in the bator...oh, p.s. i have goslings pipping!
