I took some more eggs out of the bator tonight...

The bantam egg never really developed
Two eggs from my cousins started, but quit
2 guineas started, but quit (I think there are a couple more in the bator with the same fate).
1 duck egg never really developed

I don't have much hope for the other duck eggs or Jane with no Last name.

It makes me sad. I THINK I have 3 chicks from my cousin that will make it and at least one guinea.

The hatcher is turned on so I can get it regulated before adding the eggs that will be hatching... tomorrow is day 18 for me!

Even though things didn't go great for me this hatch, I learned a lot and definitely want to try again!

Well, my 12 year old just walks in and says "Dad we have eggs pipping!"

I says, no way. We are only at day 19 with about 12 hours. Temp has been at 99.5 on one thermometer and one at 100.8 for the entire incubation. I guess the 101 thermometer is the more acurate. We just did the day 18 candle last night!

One Wheaten/Blue Wheaten (Melissa) is half way zipped and one of Lisa's BBS Ameraucanas is pipped (layed on the 25th as it says A25 on it!)

WAHOO... I hope my 4 Favs hatch!!!!
Shoot I even opened the bator for a moment to turn Miss Jayne's remaining two eggs and didn't loose any humidity... now I know why... we've got eggs hatching WAY EARLY!!

the Wheaten Blue/Wheaten is already out of the shell and chirping like all get out.

Serious from pip to hatch 20 minutes! Unbelievable.

Humidity went from 58 up to 64... will that drown the others?

2 BBS piped and one of those zipping... it's like they want out of there!

That is awesome!

From reading the humidity thread it sounds like it may hurt the others, but it may not... lol. How's that for an answer? It seems to vary so widely!

I expect some pictures!!! I wanna see the babies!

I'll check again in the morning to see how things are going. It's way past my bedtime now...

Argh. I'm getting that sinking feeling.

One fluffy chick sitting in the bator.

two pipped, one of which zipped a tiny bit. No further pipping on any of the eggs. I hate this. If I only get one chick, I'll not be happy. Day 20 starts in another 6 hours.

Anyone ever have ONE chick hatch at day 19.5 and no other chick hatch???

Oh, it's probably just the early bird. Usually pip to hatch takes a lot longer than 20 minutes! I don't usually start to worry until about 24 hours after pip if no zipping has started yet, so hang in there!
