Hatching Eggs - Journal

Pics
So sorry about the baby.. I’m happy you’re willing to try again, I’ll gladly stick around for it. May your next hatch be better :hugs
Thankyou so much. Part of me regrets not opening the membrane but I truly don’t think it would have made a difference. I had to break apart the entire shell & membrane just to figure out where the head was. Which very well could have harmed it if it still was getting blood from the veins. The yolk sac was also about the size of a nickel. Is that normal? I’ve never seen one until now

Good news! All the babies arrived okay!

I do have a question. Is this normal duckling behavior? The silver Appleyard baby runs up and pecks at everyone’s face and bill. None of the others are doing it and my other ducks never did that either

I’ve never seen that in ducklings that young. I wonder if giving it some time out would break it? Maybe someone else has had this and can help.whats the temp in the brooder?

The temp is in the upper 90s. I will give her a time out when I get home and see if that changes anything

Will make a seperate post in a new thread to see if anyone else has had this issue!
