Hatching eggs on ebay

I am currently on day 1 with my ebay eggs. infact some people on ebay also are on byc. so do your research and read the reviews. email and ask questions too. I got 14 silkie eggs from new York. this was a 100% feedback and i'll buy from them again. the 11 brahma come from florida and they has 97% feedback. we will see how this one goes before ill commit to buy again. All eggs came in uncracked with a few detached air sacks. I'm currently not turning them and we shall see how that goes. Last hatch I drove 2 hours for eggs and used a broody hen and got a 50% hatch rate. I can see and hope these shipped eggs do better.

Every egg I have ever incubated I actually got off eBay and almost every chicken we own came from one of those eggs, and since the only purebred breed locally seems to be Marans, we didn't have a lot of options
But it truly seems to go by the seller in my experience, although you can pretty much ignore the comment in the item description where they all claim they have 90% plus hatch rate at their house, but sometimes I've had very good luck and sometimes I have had zero luck, but only once have I received eggs that were broken, and they do have a big variety of breeds on there, so I guess like most things in life, it's all a gamble ...

I'm not in the market for purchasing hatching eggs, but the other day I came across several listings for hatching eggs on eBay. I'm super curious, is this a fairly normal and validated way to purchase eggs? Would you trust buying hatching eggs from eBay? It just seemed so strange to me, but I'm brand new to world of owning and selling chickens.
The number one problem with buying hatching eggs from an ebay listing is that most of the sellers are not NPIP certified and are illegally shipping hatching across state lines. Do your homework and make sure the seller is NPIP and provides the required paperwork to make the shipment legal. Some states also require an import permit along with the NPIP paperwork.
