You can ship mine if you wish. That darn incubator hid the off button on me.
It does not have one. In fact the cords are alive and will plug back in if you pull it out.
Okay, done....................break out the cream cheese...................

Deb
I am bread impared, have never been able to bake yeastie or bread things. I once worked for a publisher that did a lot of cookbooks and they used to bring this insane things they had made to work, all I did were cookies. So embarassing.
Email drives me freaking crazy. I've had my account for years, and have quite a bit of padding in there. I was almost to nine thousand unread emails, but I'm finally below eight thousand. Mostly junk. My total count, with read emails as well is 10,997 (after disposing of all of those emails!!!) Some are very old conversations, documents, etc for rats, bettas and ball pythons, some are old DC tags from shipping various things, old receipts for random stuff I've purchased, etc. I just can't seem to let them go, even old receipts. BUT, at least it's not papers all over the house. Still digging through the ol' inbox to get rid of crap that's just junk, like sales advertisements from 2008! I closed my last email account for this reason, because I got tired of all the junk, so I just cancelled the account and opened a new one. I don't want to do that again, but holy crap! Does anyone else have a problem with that, or do you guys generally keep up with deleting junk mail at least?
Google is usualy good at keeping out real junk mail ( as opposed to people who you signed up for their stuff) I gave up on yahoo becuse that spam filter was horrible. The stuff I want to keep ( recipts, chicken email business etc) I just put into folders.
Nope, wouldn't mind a bit! Of course, you don't owe me any eggs...

So I got another convert hooked on silkies. I need to find her some eggs!
Silkies are addictive, and so hard to sex they can be sold straight run! What is not to like??

I got the results back on my little boy who died. He either got cancer at 4 mths or had a rare genetic disease. I think moveing just made him keel over faster due to the stress. I'm always sure they have something horrible, and it is always something that is not preventable. Still feels like too many chickens die, however.

If you don't mind sending, I'd like the bagel recipe as well, lol.

I think I'm finally all set with what to do with my eggs. I have someone wanting to buy 2-4 dozen eggs every week. It's only at $2/dozen, but whatever. I'll be losing money, but it's better than nothing I suppose. It's only about 1/3rd of what I would have to charge to get feed back, but I'm basing that on just laying mash, not including brewer's mash. Ah well. Better than having all these eggs coming in and wanting to set them and not being able to... removes the temptation, lol.

Hey Deb can I get your recipe please? Would love to have a good make at home bagel

I don't want the recipe cause I would be sure to burn them but feel free to just send me some :p

There are some good cooks on here with the cheesecakes and the roast duck...I am jealous! I have foodie taste buds without the skills

I have 64 pages of emails in my inbox, 602 individual emails unread, and that doesn't count the ones I actually took time to drop into a folder.

Bagels

1 cup warm water
1 1/2 teas. salt
2 Tblsp white sugar
3 c. bread flour
2 1/4 teas. dry yeast (1 pckg)

Typical - mix, knead, let rise until double (about an hour). Punch down dough and let rest a few minutes. Cut into 8 pieces and roll into slightly flattened balls. Punch your finger through the middle and then twirl on your finger to enlarge the hole and even them out. Place on an ungreased sheet, cover with a towel and let rest 10 min.

While the dough is resting, bring 3 quarts of water to a bowl in a large pot, melt 3 Tblsp of sugar into water. Place each bagel into water and boil for one minute, flip over half way through. Sprinkle a little cornmeal on the cookie sheet. Lift each bagel out with slotted spoon and place on sheet. Glaze top with beaten egg white and sprinkle with seeds of your choice (could use cheese instead). Bake at 375 for 20-25 min.

The changes I made, added 1Tblsp of cinnamon and a cup of raisins to the dough. In both places, I used brown sugar instead of white. Omitted the cornmeal and any topping. I bake them a little light because I like to toast them.
