just had a very bad night. Had to put my 27 year old mare down. I had her for 16 of those years and she gave me 7 babies (only one was a filly that we still have). She was a fighter till the end but when she could no longer get up, it was time.

Good i bought a trio the one ended up being a male and the little 15 lb guy does not crow so i put the 3 in a 10x6 dog run. and im getting Hug eggs . Did you want eggs or chicks and i am not Npip certified so i will have to look into that.

I AM BACK! Thanks for all the well wishes.... I hope it is GONE. I am much better but still not up to speed yet. It was a stomach bug of some sort. I had it a few weeks ago too... odd really.

Well I lost 6 of the SFH chicks..... Not sure what happened but it was similar to when my hatcher got to 113 and KILLED all the chicks.... I came in and saw them all laying down like they were sleeping or dead. The hatcher was NOT hot.... spot on at 99-100 and had not been hot either. I had all 16 in one basket.... I can only guess they got too hot with so many in one box ????????? I think they had brain damage. They were shaking and not waking up. 2 were dead in the hatcher 1 more died in the brooder and then 3 started going down. I think the worst is over. If anyone has an idea what that was let me know. I am going to stick with the theory that it was over crowded and HOT.

I have hatched 5 SLW chicks VERY EXCITED about that. More in the hatcher

One SLW pullet has started laying again and the roo is doing his job

It is going to be 72 here tomorrow but the temps are going to drop after that but still not as bad as it was a few weeks back. I have about 40 juvies I need to move outside BUT it is FAR too muddy and we have 4-6 inches of rain coming in the next few days.

I need to get some gravel in those runs ASAP

Next time if I can afford it.... concrete for the runs.

Anybody who owes me eggs Just let me know they are coming.... I have room.... bator holds 540 eggs.

I am shipping some eggs saturday. Papa Brooder, Superjjf ..... and an order. ANYBODY I AM MISSING?????

I had to double check. I started to post this and then thought I was wrong. Bad night. Anyway, don't know if the w/bw amers are up but I claimed 6+ of those 12/28.

Had buttercups hatch earlier this week. Had several that did not hatch. Was planning on talking them all out tomorrow and clean incubator. Went to town to get chicken food and when I got home, 2 had hatched and one is pipped. I put them in lock down on the morning of the 6th.

Don't know how much longer to leave them, but want to give them plenty of time.

My car completely "died" and was going to cost more to fix than it was worth. Started looking today for replacement and husband became frustrated because everything we looked at I judged by how many chicken crates it could hold

Gotta have priorities! Im thinking a truck or minivan...
