Sorry to rant. Some days are just meant for a good book, coffee, cover and recliner.....
I'm sorry. I will check with my neighbor (Chicken Mafia on Facebook) and see if they have any. Keep your fingers crossed. Even if I can't get you a roo, I might be able to get some eggs.

Yes B.C. do have a strong prey drive, all herding bred dogs do.  BUT, most sheep herding dogs have very little bite instinct.  (They don't want them eating sheep)  So mine may try to herd the chickens on occasion, but I can leave them in with my chickens all day and never worry about them hurting one.  Now cattle bred dogs have more bite to them, so can be more of a concern.  And of course there are exceptions to every rule!  I watched my dog nudge a chicken all the way accross my basement floor.

x2! My BC is awesome with the birds and she did not grow up around them. We also can leave her with them unsupervised with no worries at all!

Oh my gosh.. I'm so sorry about everyones bad luck! I hope it all turns around soon.

x2! I hope it gets better!

just had a moment to post this.... my weekend buy...... 39 of them! cute!

What all did you get? Those are so cute. They look somewhat like the one Red Dorking I had hatch.

By the way, when you get a chance I posted a question a couple pages back about the coloring on the Birchen Marans I hatched from your eggs. Thanks.

OK, all, I have a stupid question so don't laugh. I have never show so am not up on terminology for colors. The Birchen Marans that hatched from crfarms mainly hatched out as splash or blues. I need to sell some extra roos. What do I call their color? Are they the same as regular Splash Marans or Blue Marans, or do they have some special designation since they came from Birchen base coloring?

TIA

out of this pen you would be hatching black birchen, splash birchen, blue birchen, so they would be blue birchen and splash birchen. You may not be able to visually see the birchen coloring in the splash. Just depends on the individual roo.

I posted an answer to your question above this post.....
