I am looking forward to meeting so many BYC friends! I have made a page for my trip. Link is in my signature. Please check it and if I am supposed to meet you and your name is not listed please let me know!
I cant wait to meeet both you and Snap!
So sorry, that is a total shame. If people dont know how to ship eggs then they shouldn"t try
I am so thankful for how much i have learned just by receiving eggs from you guys. Seriously. And I guess from seing others mistakes...so sorry about the eggs Chickenbelle...

OK I added all my stops in order under the picture of my route on the trip page. There is going to be an impressive number of chickens getting moved on this trip!!!
what kind of bantam cochins you got? You aren't going to be too far from me and Betta I think. We are in Central PA

I am fairly new to shipping too, but so far none have even been cracked that I know of...and there are a few on here that can testify to that!
I would demand a refund and find another supplier for the breed you want!

CPL...I am loving the collage pictures!

I'm definitely frustrated about the eggs. These are show birds--if they're really hers--because her facebook has pics of them with their ribbons at shows. Seriously, she should know better than to ship them that way. I doubt any will hatch. I'll be surprised if they do. I'm going to put all of them on one side of the incubator and Papa's on the other.

Hi Everyone, I haven't been swapping lately do to lazy layers and being very busy getting ready for my craft show. I just wanted to ask the ones that have gotten there turkey eggs from me. If you had any hatch or not or if you had any candle or not. Those of you that didn't get any to candle or hatch please Pm me. I will resend the eggs, I think the cold weather got to them. They aren't laying right now but, When they start back up I will replace you guy's that didn't candle. I think they got too cold with the wacky weather we have been having.

Here is one of my Blue Slate turkey Poults that hatched a few days ago.

I have picked up some new breeds though, I got a quad of Large Fowl Silver Laced Wyandottes

I also picked up a new pair of Muscovy Ducks they are like a Lavender and Chocolate mix. Look kinda like a calico color.

I would email the person about the eggs and maybe attach pictures of the proper way to pack eggs. Even more frustating for me is when the box is packed so tight that the insides of the eggs are what absorb all the shock during shipping. They may make it with the shells intact, but the insides are scrambled. I absolutely HATE those foam shippers that fit perfectly in the box and each egg fits into precut holes. Scrambled eggs. I payed over $100 for a dozen eggs a couple of years ago. 18 were sent and arrived in seemingly perfect condition. But the aircells were all detached and 3 only eggs hatched! I love a big box with each egg individually wrapped and floating in packing peanuts.

Evening everyone. Haven't yet had a chance to catch up on posts, as I AM FURIOUS!!!!! I got eggs in today from papabrooder and from someone on a rare breed site. Of course papa's were packed wonderfully. As soon as I saw the other box I knew there was going to be trouble. Egg was all over the OUTSIDE of the SECOND BOX!

Now, she had messaged me to say she had sent 6 extras and that sometimes it didn't turn out to pack that many, but she HAD TAPED THEM WELL. So...18 eggs wrapped in napkins. Placed in a carton. Carton taped all the way around. It is obvious that the eggs broke when she taped the carton that tight. Carton placed on its back diagonally to barely fit in the box. Piece of newspaper on top and bottom. That box was taped shut and placed in another box the same size.

I have pics. Of the 18, nine were okay, but covered in egg goop and I wiped them clean with a wet cloth, but am out of oxine to clean them with. I'm hoping they don't have any bacteria to ruin them or papa's eggs in the incubator with them. One egg had a hole in the bottom, but the membrane was intact so we candle waxed it hoping it might make it. The other 8 were SMUSHED FLAT!!!!!

Yes, I paid for a dozen. Yes, she sent extras. But I'm now afraid I will have trouble with bacteria and from horrible air cells since they shipped sideways on the 9 that are okay. I'm not sure if I should email her and tell her or if I should notify the site manager to tell them. Should I leave it alone? Do I need to clean these eggs with something else before they go in with Papabrooder's?

Here are pics...

Carton when I opened the box. The paper was all soaked around it. All the eggs around the tape end were broken.

Mushy mess.

Flat as a PANCAKE!

Oh no!!! That's so disappointing!

Good luck with your show Michelle! Post pics of your inventory and setup if you get a chance! I have some strange fetish for seeing fully stocked inventory, LOL!

Oh, and, BAD Michelle, nobody is allowed to post poult pics unless they're already on my breed list... Heavens knows I don't need additional turkey pens!
