I use those foams to ship and I don't believe I've had anyone complain about scrambled eggs. I believe it is all in how you package them. I double box. Foam shippers go into a size 4 priority box with packing material, usually newspaper to keep the foam in place and the eggs. That's if I only use one foam shipper, 2 doesn't need any packing material since they fit snug in the box. Then that box goes inside a #7 priority box with packing peanuts. Someone on here hatched 11 out of 12 eggs, no scrambling there. I have seen people just use the #4 box with the foam shippers and sorry but that's not enough protection for the eggs.
that makes perfect sense, I can see how that would work.

Happy birthday to the birthday peeps!

My first ever hatching eggs go into lockdown on Monday. I am not too hopeful on them hatching. I had a temp spike of just under 104. The thermometer didn't read a time for it, so it was brief, that is the only thing that has me still holding out hope for them. It was less than a minute there or it would have charted ( the only thermometer that I had on hand is a high tech one that my DH sells....it's a 400.00 thermometer). The temp has averaged 95 the whole time, so I hope that reading was just a weird fluke. I will know on Wednesday next week.
I need 400.00 thermometer it just sounds cool, congrats on the hatch.

So my husband gave me a hour home alone this morning for my bday, I spent it cleanin the chicken coops. If you had ever said to me I would enjoy an hour of freedom cleaning coops, I would have laughed.
Anyway, I also got a chance so sit out there and take some pictures. Thought I would share a few.

I just wanted to post what I've learned about shipping eggs. I received 4 swap boxs today, As soon as I walked into the post office she said I"m sorry 2 boxes weren't marked and were thrown into the Big Bag. Both were damaged. The other 2 were both marked Live embryos and were hand carried. Not a mark on either of them.

Every time I walk into a new post office ( at least 6 different ones) I ask about the handling of our packages. I also ask every postal carrier I meet.

One thing they have all said Is if all you are going to put is fragile , you might as well not mark the box at all. as most of the boxes have that on them and they just don't really pay attention to that any more. They are all thrown into the big bag.

Anyone that has gotten eggs from me has seen my label. This is what I was told to do, Use Color ink and put pictures,to get there attention where they actually look at it. As she told me today. Tell everyone the labels work best,(gets there attention) but at the very least to put the LIVE EMBRYOS on there so they know to be careful with them.
