my most expesive box is the large flat rate at 17, and yes I box in a box or styrofoam line a box then wrap the eggs and pack.

Oh and another question

you said no mixed color pens for first offer, it has to be all 1 color or 4 from two pens all one color.

in waterfowl it is very common to breed a pen of ducks or geese to completely different color drake/gander and still be pure ColorX because you breed back so to speak to improve type, color depth, feathering, size ect.

So would these also have to be a second offer or can they be a first offer?

I think it is more for chickens since some think different color chickens but same breed still equal a pure bird. It doesn't, it equals a mess. With ducks and geese, I'm clueless. I don't have either nor do I know anything about breeding them. I believe that chicken breeds are far more extensive then other poultry.

The cost could be also from where in the country it is shipped and going to, like the different hubs and such.

flat rate priority will save loads of money on shipping. We have an online commercial account so that could be a difference in price too.

Thanks on the waterfowl. Figured I better ask in place of assuming anything lol

I don't ship that often to the west cost so most time it doesn't cost anymore then $10 to ship.

Thanks for all kind words regarding my cruddy hatch. Aye - I would love a "peep" package. If you've got a spare CL roo, I'd love him.

I did put the little boy down. He wasn't getting any better and his tremors were getting worse. I totally blame this on my incubator - it has a hard time staying stable in lockdown, especially when they start pipping. Last time I was home so I was able to fine tune the temp and humidity, but this time I wasn't home until the end. I'm going to try using my "new" Roll-X has a hatcher. It seems backwards, since it holds twice as many eggs, but if it holds temp and humidity better, than so be it. But that won't be for a awhile, at least until April.

I think the new rules are great! I won''t be swapping for a bit, but I'm all for fine tuning.

Okay, I'm exhausted, and feel the need to babble. Hubby lit the bonfire pit to burn deadfall at 6:00 am. He couldn't keep it burning, so gave up. No big deal; the pile wasn't that big. It could wait. We both have been doing chores and errands all day. Then he took a nap. At about 1:30, he woke up, glanced out the window and hit the door running. A wind had come up, and apparently there were some coals down in there. He started hauling buckets. I got the muck tub cart, and garden cart and started filling tubs to haul. Reilly has eaten all the hoses we had, but none would have reached anyway.

Fire moved fast. When he saw it, it was less than a couple yards from the fire pit. By the time I got out there with the first tub, it was over maybe a quarter acre and moving. I hauled out the next tub, grabbed all the dogs, and called 911. They got to us quickly, but it was maybe an acre and a half by then, next to the shop, heading for the new chickenhouse and his Harley trailer. Fast. Fire Dept got it out quick, thank goodness.

I have used my energy allotment for today. Hubby certainly has, as he was running buckets while I was moving tubs. He also inhaled a lot of smoke. I have him with a humidifier and hot tea for the steam. He's not in bad shape, but it's miserable to have lovely seared lungs.

Nobody was hurt, human pet or livestock. The fire didn't get to the front yard where all the dried leaves are. It got stopped before it reached any building....well, it was licking the shop, but that's all it got. A pile of lumber to build a lean to on the shop got no more than singed. Some fence will end up having to be replaced.

My husband points out that the dang deadwood in the fire pit still didn't burn!

Hope your day is better.

So glad you/they were able to put it out!

my uncle piles all his paper burn trash and covers with leaves and piles dead wood on top whenever it starts to rain he lights the fire and burns only on rainy days
. Yeah, we only burn when wet, but not actively raining...we'd never be able to start a fire in the rain without using a starter fluid of some kind. In fact, that's why hubby gave up this morning. The pile was so wet, he couldn't get it going. He thought. Apparently, it was dry underneath and smoldering until the wind came up. Dry deadfall gives off very little smoke.

Ugh, doing the taxes tonight.

I'm fully prepared with raspberry vodka and Hersey bars though

I'm thinking I can claim the chickens as dependents, right?
