Yesterday morning DH drove DS to pick up his girlfriend to take them both to school. When they arrived at girfriend's house, she came running out of the house screaming that the house was on fire and that her grandmother was still inside. DS without hesitation ran in and rescued the elderly disabled woman. The house is a total loss, nothing left but a hole in the ground where the basement used to be. Tthe local news did a story on DS. I'm so proud of him!

Wow...good job DS!!!!! but so sorry for them on the house. I hope they have decent insurance. but still...at least Grandma was okay.
I always think about things like photo albums and the quilt great grandma made that can't be replaced and what would I grab on the way out...besides all the living creatures.

DD just asked how it felt to be halfway to 80

I told her about the same as it will feel when I die and she finds out she has been left out of the will for being so sassy!

Well if it makes you feel any better, I am halfway to 88 next month!

I sent eggs to Alaska with them. They don't heat real warm, but keep a steady temp. They use them to ship live tropical fish, flowers, reptiles, and eggs. It's pretty cool.

40 years is a LONG way to 80. Might feel like a blink of an eye, but reality a lot happens and changes.
I have been having bad anxiety over my kids being sick this last week. I talked to my grandpa today, who is 80 and definitely in his prime, and he told me that when he was a kid the only medicine he got was salt water to gargle and they all made it out alive. Puts age into perspective, and our everyday worries and fears!

I told her about the same as it will feel when I die and she finds out she has been left out of the will for being so sassy!

I find this soo funny cause I have teased my mom for the last 10 years and keep telling her MY age and telling her she is old because she has so many grandkids UNTIL I started to realize my oldest brother is OVER 40 and my other brother is coming up on it quite fast which means (me) the baby of the family isn't quite the baby anymore! So I only tease my mom when she can't find things or when she can't figure something on the computer/phone!!

Just had to share. These guys are really sweet. Serama from Bhep and MrsMooncat's eggs. They are tiny, but lively! I did not want to chase them too much, so I only grabbed two of each setting of eggs.

So the black barthuhners have been moved to their permanent pen. The rooster has loads of beautiful hens and I'm hoping that jump starts his interest.
