Barrel pens anyone? I finally have a few mins to put up pictures. The metal rack to the right.... hubby was going to take it down but I can use that to put these barrels I hope

This is the way I had to make the feeders and waterers... the chickens knocked them over the other way so I revised my plan. Just used some scrap.

The pink is just pipe cleaners. I used them to secure the feeder and waterer so they would not knock them all over the pen

I just have 3 made, 2 more almost made and one just cut. Tomorrow I will put them all together if I can. I have more chickens coming this week and need to quarantine them too.

The white birds are Exchequer x WL crosses I made last fall. ALL three pullets are laying. I have a roo too, but I don't really like to breed brother and sister if I can help it.

These little roos are Splash Marans. For a project of course LOL. Must test them for yellow legs if that is good they are good to go!

More crosses I gave these girls away as roos LOL. He gave them back after he grew them up.... Nice Guy!

So, our option is to put him down?

It is so sad, he is really such a sweet dog, just food possessive.

You can probably adopt him to a someone with no children but, you need to tell them. I would talk to a professional dog trainer to get a good opinion or even a Rottweiler rescue.

update:
I just finished reading your posts and it looks like you have made a good decision by contacting your trainer. Good luck with your decision and hope everything works out for you and your family.

Those look really cool. Just something I learned when I used the 5 gallon buckets for nesting boxes and all 5 silkies decided to sleep in them - they exhale a lot of moisture - things got really wet really fast (and they were out all day - only in at night). You might need a few "vent" holes strategically placed to let in and out more air at the back. Those barrels are larger than the bucket was - but do keep an eye on the moisture in the bedding and condensation on the walls. Poor silkies always had spikey hairdoos in the mornings!

Oh yeah, and if you have some medium duty wire you can make holders for your feed and water cups and hook them through the holes. It might be sturdier than the pipe cleaners.

I have a couple questions...

How do you package your eggs?
What was the worst packaging of eggs you have received?

I don't want to call anyone out. This is not in any way meant to hurt anyone's feelings. I am curious because... well. I am. That's all I can say right now.

Thanks for the tip on the vents! I should have thought about that. I did think about feeders on the door, but these were CHEAP.... I am all about cheap and easy.

Does anyone have a cure for a nasty mean billy goat that has horns. I tell you i have had it with him. I bottle fed him and he is just down right mean. He horns me & rears up at me and my kids. Last night was the last straw though. I got him off his chain and connected him to his lead rope. As soon as i did that he blasted me in the knee cap with his horns and knocked me clean off my feet. Then he started attacking me horning me anywhere he could. Honestly i am ready to take him to have him processed. I don't do mean animals nor do i sell them to people. I know it sounds harsh but if anyone has a better solution i am open to op's. I have already tried to band his horns he keeps breaking them. Hubby won't let me have someone cut them off nor can i find anyone local to do it. He is my breeder so not wanting him to be a weather. Just out of options. I'm afraid he is going to hurt my kids. I can't even let them in the goat stall

Grrr.... Darn spell correct.

Unfortunately, the bottle feeding is the problem with a male animal. We bottle fed a lamb last year, but after reading on the internet we castrated him. Just not worth the risk, they have no sense of boundary with humans.

I just found a quad of Egyptian Fayomi's on Craigslist for $60 good deal or not. They won't be a yr until June. Also would anyone be interested in eggs from them if I swapped them.

Yes

I individually wrap each egg in bubble wrap, place them in a cut apart egg carton, wrap the egg carton in more bubble wrap, then into a box protected on all four sides by the big air bubble packing.. Sometimes I will double box large orders to add another layer of protection.. seems to work for me.. 100% have arrived intact the last year plus...

WARNING: Pictures of nature at its finest but some will find freaky! Please skip if you aren't fond of 8 legged creatures or continue on if you are curious!!!
For those who don't know what this is, this is my second largest tarantula molting his old clothes and putting on some new ones. I got to watch the whole process and yes, I also found out it's a boy!!!!
That's AMAZING! I heart the spiders and slithery things though!

That's why I made all of mine out of wire. If you want pictures let me know. This was aluminum wire I got after I had to have my electrical box outside replaced because of storm damage. I kept all the wire so I have copper, but this is the aluminum side that the electric company uses for their wire. So. to me, it was both very expensive - and free...
