Maybe that's how he fell from the great turning rack in the sky!!!  He doesn't look like anything else I have and he is really big!  I though he was a poult at first.

Um you know those odd ones can show up after a time when one night you have too many kahluas. I've heard of these surprises with other hens too. Those Roos might look pretty good then, but look what happens later. You have to try to figure out who's the dady.

Dear Wonderful and Responsible Chicken Owners,

My name is Jane Doe. I am just poor little mystery chick looking for my way in the world. I was born on the rough side of tracks and my irresponsible and neglectful mom found me riding the rails in the huge scary incubator. I mean I want to grow up and be a professional skateboarder someday, but at about 12 hours old, don't you think I am still a little young? So after riding the rails for hours among all my brothers and sisters (I think SHE might have killed them because they are just sitting there like blobs while there is an earthquake right under their feet), my so called mom opened up the incubator and let in all this super cold air and then skeeched and promptly grabbed me by the legs and tossed me out into the cold dark world, abandoning all the other babies and leaving me cold and alone.

Is the such a thing as Chick Protective Services? Because, I can't totally sure because I wasn't born yesterday, but I think she is an imposter!!! I am nothing more than a lonely, lonely baby in the world but there is something quite wrong with that mama hen if you ask me. It seems to me that she at least have feathers, unless that rooster has been after her too much! I dream of some beaver clear family where the world is warm and safe and I get tucked lovingly under the wing every night falling asleep to the sweet coos of a mama who loves me.

Alas, this is not my lot in life. I was born into a cold harsh world where I somehow fell through the cracks of the great turning rack in the sky. Why or why couldn't I have been born to one of you mamas and papas that are so keen to adopt and who have lost so many babies already, instead of this shumck? I am reaching to you to help me find myself. Please, oh please, can you at least tell me what I am?

Hilarious story - wild guess - CCL? after all.. its a LegBAR...? Any other sexible at hatch eggs in there?

I know what you are! MINE!!!!:plbb

Speaking of Legbars... I hatched one little CCL this weekend. Legbar experts: is this a female with a headspot, or a darker male.... Out of CPL's eggs...

Good morning guys! I woke up to a swollen face from a sinus infection, and there is a rat in my barn with the chicks. Lost two yesterday to him, I have to try to go out and set up a trap for him today. Back to bed for me, at least until the sun comes up or my face stops hurting like this....

I am with you there.  I just candled 120 eggs tossed over 1/2 and the ones left are 95% mine.  Sucks.....

Ugh. It makes you about half sick, doesn't it? I'd blame it on freezing eggs, but those turkey eggs sat for four days in the snow and three out of four still developed.

Krazy, call me cheap, but no chick is worth $17. Not when you have to feed it, buy more and try to get at least a breeding pair or trio, then find out you've hatched and fed three cockerels that you paid $17 each for and fed for two months. :(
