Profti, I was wandering the gardens today........because I can with NO snow on the ground and found my hubby drove over TWO of my blueberry bushes, knocked over a fence onto my everbearing raspberries and broke them off for the fifty feet section and it seems my gooseberries are missing. What should be his punishment? Last year we got ten pounds of blueberries each from those bushes, and the raspberries will still produce in the fall (if it doesn't snow early) but there will be a much reduced crop in July. I'm thinking no strawberry jam this year! Or maybe two years because he also hacked off the best limbs on my three varieties of mulberries. And as for the gooseberries! He's been a very bad boy. I say he gets no cherry pie filling for his favorite chocolate cherry bars and black Forrest cake. Think that will teach him?
Tell him you need at least 8 new breeds of birds to make up for the variety and diversity!!!

So cool....but are you talking about another donkey when you say "jenny" or a person?  that IS a donkey...right  (gosh I am tired...eyes are crossing)
I love broody mama hens....
That is TOOO funny that you are related to them....HA!!!!  I saw or read (cant remember) a special or something that said one of the families had a genetic mental issue that they are even suffering from today, albeit with modern medicine, so they can be normal.  I think it is cool that they can do combined reunions now.

Growing up my mother always insisted we were NOT of those McCoys. Then about 20 years ago she up and goes to one of their reunions after many many invites. I don't know if she knew and was embarrassed or if her father claimed no relationship. She really got into genealogy about thirty years ago and did a ton of research. My brothers and sisters and I were each given a huge binder stuffed with copies of newsprint and church records going way back. It's an interesting tome to read.

But we don't ask permission for numbers or breeds as it is. We just do whatever we want. It's not like my hubby supports the birds. The mutts and production breeds lay enough eggs to keep all the birds in feed. Of course our constantly adding and changing things probably doesn't help with his ADHD and leads to his impulsive stupid decision making. Drives me nuts! I love having 50 different projects a humming along, but he just gets lost and confused. So then I drive him nuts. Rinse and repeat.

Look what we brought home today to our Jenny - she is like

Cute cute cute!!!

I woke up early to whistling turkeys calling me. Seems the oldest poults got a little rambunctious and broke their water container. Most of a gallon of water on a cold tile floor that early will wake you right up. Little stinkers have been jumping and trying to run and fly, but just don't have the space. Guess we will be making some brooder decisions today. To bad it's cold, wet and spitting little balls of I've right now. Last year at this time my gardens were in bloom. Haven't even gotten most of my starts done this year. Oh warm warm spring and summer days where for art thou? I'm forever stuck in the land of bloody nasty weather.
