Ok...I have been sorting through all of my swaps and trades just to make sure I am on the "up and up" with everyone. I think I have everything I owe either sent or listed on my swap page as owed. I also think I have either sent out all my turkey eggs for this year or made other arrangements when they stopped laying. If, for some reason, I have not. please, please PM so we can work something out. Also, if I owe you items, I would really appreciate it if you would take a moment and check to see if what I have listed is correct.

I am still working on my bookkeeping......

I was thinking about putting them on their sides, that looks like it would be easier. DH is calling for a quote in a while on the pipe. We'll see if they are financially feasible or not at that point. Then time to figure out how to make it work.

They can't go under the tin since there is actually welded wire behind the metal which is cemented a foot into the ground. I just thought that high up, I could use chicken wire, but they found a way to get up there.

The poison is put where no pets can get to it. I've run out of options at this point and tried just about anything and everything I can think of.

You haven't yet run out of options, you are still able to try this, plus putting field fencing up over the chicken wire...just sayin', don't give up yet! You do .still have options to put in place so as not to have to give up your birds. I really hope you are able to keep them, as it's obvious you care a lot for them!

Looks like I have both Black Barthuhner hens laying but only one is fertile. I set some eggs and only 2 are growing. So looks like I'll be setting every darn egg they lay to hatch out whatever chicks I can.

They grow up and get tough....at the least the boys.  But I learned last night that I still mama to my big boy.  I wasn't sure because he spends his days being the big man on campus.  When I got home from work, my roommates had him on a work table in the basement.  He had cut up his foot pretty bad and they were trying to wrangle him and fix him up. The minute he saw me he ran to the end of the table and crawled into my arms just like when he was a baby and tucked his big giant tom head into my shirt like he used to do.  It was heartbreakingly cute.  Of course, after the cuddling, he pecked on the cheek to express his extreme displeasure and frustration, but it made me happy anyway.

BTW:  I have noticed with my Midgets that a couple don't have identifiable snoods.....I am used to the prominent snood of my RB, are they smaller or take longer to grow?

Yeah they all run to Momma when they need protection, but heaven forbid someone mess with their Momma! Alex got disciplined yesterday for poking me in the rear with his foot. Eva got pretty POed and then Frankie got all up in his face. It's don't mess with my Momma! They calmed down once we both hugged them though.

The almost not there snoods are girlies. At least that's how it always works for me. They will grow a little as they get older, but when they hatch and have no discernible snood I mark em. Never had it be wrong yet. It's the only way I'm able to sex them. Of course I tell people I'm only 50% right.

You only owe me BR turkey eggs, but your girls are on strike. Little stinkers that they are! I'm in no hurry though, so get em when you get em. Of course you could always send those snood less midgets back to me. I promises to love them as if they were my own.
